- Its foliage is a dull, dark green that matures to an outstanding wine-red, burgundy color in the autumn.
- Mounded and round in growth habit, this slow-growing specimen will reach 4-6 feet tall and wide with age.
- Grows in zones 4-7 and prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. It does not tolerate wet soil. It can handle heat but would appreciate some afternoon shade.
